eVTOL - a new type of Aircraft

An electric revolution is also currently taking place in aviation. Start-ups for vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft have mushroomed in America, Asia and Europe over the past ten years.

eVTOL stands for “electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing”, i.e. these aircraft can in principle take off from a parking lot or a high-rise building and do not require an airport with a runway as infrastructure.

You want to know about the electrification of conventional aircraft? For the time being, we have focused on vertical take-off aircraft because we find these flying objects so exciting and our editorial resources are limited.

But don’t worry, we’ll also be reporting on the electrification of conventional aircraft that rely on runways in the near future.

You just want to browse? In our index from A to Z, you will find compact descriptions of all globally significant eVTOL start-ups.
